Sungevity Inc. (Oakland, California, U.S.) the largest private solar company in the U.S. on April 29th, 2015 announced a new partnership with Sonnenbatterie GmbH (Wildpoldsried, Germany), Europe's leading smart energy storage provider.
Through the partnership, Sungevity will offer Sonnenbatterie smart energy storage systems to its network of customers in the U.S. and Europe, starting in the second half of 2015, the partners announce.
Sonnenbatterie's highly sophisticated storage systems incorporate Sony's “Fortelion” lithium ion cells with an industry-leading 10,000 charge cycles.
Sonnenbatterie chose to partner with Sungevity due to the solar provider's unparalleled customer experience and proprietary remote solar design technology, reads the press release.
“More than just solar”
Customers who participate in the program will consume more of their own solar power, enjoy reduced costs and have access to backup power during outages.
“Customers look to Sungevity for more than just solar; they look to us for the best energy experience that points towards the future,” said Peter Graf, Chief Product Officer, Sungevity.
“As the global leader in home energy systems, Sonnenbatterie delivers a compelling extension of our solar energy system for new and existing customers alike.”
By installing the storage system, customers will be able to bank any excess energy generated by their solar panels and store it for future use, such as at night, during peak pricing hours or when there is a power outage.
Sonnenbatterie's residential solutions are known for their reliability, beautiful design, and ease of use. Sonnenbatterie also provides commercial solutions for small businesses, hotels and other uses.
“We chose to work with Sungevity on this project because, like Sonnenbatterie, they have earned a reputation for delivering an unparalleled customer experience based on the highest quality solutions that feature the latest in solar and energy technology,” comments Boris von Bormann, CEO of Sonnenbatterie USA.
