Solairedirect announces key PV project wins and financings in the US and Chile

On May 12th, 2015 the international solar photovoltaic (PV) project developer Solairedirect SA (Paris, France) announced significant milestones in two of its key geographies: Chile and the United States of America.

Solairedirect acquired the Denersol and Canto del Agua solar projects in the northern region of Atacama in Chile with a total capacity of 72 MW. The projects are equipped with tracker powered systems from developer Abantia Sun Energy and will be designed and built by Solairedirect Chile. Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2015.

This is Solairedirect’s third project in Chile after the Andacollo project built in 2013 with a pioneering merchant PPA and the Los Loros project, where construction is about to start in the coming weeks having secured bank financing, the company notes.

sPower provides equity financing for a 26.5 MW PV project in Madera County, California

Separately, Solairedirect started collaborating with sPower (Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.), a prominent American renewable energy provider, to develop and build solar photovoltaic projects in the United States. The first joint initiative is the purchase by Solairedirect and equity financing by sPower of the Adera project, a 26.5 MW project located in Madera County in California.

The utility-scale project will be designed and built by Solairedirect USA Inc. In addition, Adera Solar LLC has signed a 20-year-power purchase agreement (PPA) with Southern California Edison (SCE). Construction is scheduled to start during the second quarter of 2015, with completion expected in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Adera is the first solar park to be built by Solairedirect in the United States since the foundation of Solairedirect USA Inc. in April 2014.
